A specialty roaster with a cafe plus wholesale operation needed a POS that understood their actual workflow: single-origin lots tracked by harvest, roast profiles, wholesale customer pricing tiers, and barista shift accountability. Generic POS systems forced them into compromises: either no lot tracking, or a brittle 3-app stack with no shared data.
We built a focused POS and lightweight ERP from scratch covering green-bean inventory (by farm, lot, harvest), roast batch tracking with yield calculation, retail and wholesale price tiers, customer accounts with running balances, and per-barista shift reporting. The system runs on a tablet for the cafe, a web app for wholesale staff, and a public ordering page for wholesale customers.
The roaster now reconciles their books in 20 minutes per week instead of two full days per month. Inventory accuracy went from best-guess to genuinely real-time. Wholesale customers self-serve 80% of their reorders, freeing the wholesale lead to focus on new accounts and farmer relationships.
